Roll Cage

It's not advisable to install a fully welded roll cage in a street car. The exposure to hitting your unprotected head against one of the bars is possible, even with the right padding on the bars.

Remember that in a race car, the driver is positioned in a "race-type" seat with a full five or six point seat belt system, plus the driver is wearing a certified race helmet.

Even with a fully certified belt system and racing seat, it has been shown on film that a driver can move enough in a serious shunt to allow his/her head to come in contact with one of the roll cage bars. All seat belts, either factory or racing, will stretch some amount due to the inertia of a human body moving in a shunt.
